In particular, once a term has been entered on Google, for each page in the SERP the extension will show you:

- domain traffic,
- social sharing,
- backlinks,
- table with the main keywords.
You can install this Ubersuggest extension for free, directly from the Chrome Web Store, in this way it will be included in the tools, under the heading “extensions” and can be removed, or temporarily disabled, at any time.
Ubersuggest: the dashboard
The Ubersuggest dashboard is divided into 4 main categories:
- Ubersuggest,
- Traffic analyzer,
- SEO analyzer,
- Resources.
Since the fourth refers only to support and information requests, the first three are the ones you will need to complete your research.
Each of these three sections is divided into other sub-categories, the use of one or the other, as I will explain later, varies according to the type of analysis you want to carry out.
Ubersuggest
The Ubersuggest category is the first in the dashboard, and it’s the one you’ll need to pay attention to when you want to do in-depth research on a topic, for which you’ll need to know the main related keywords.
Working on a specific number of key terms is very important, as it means increasing the chances of positioning your business by responding to users’ search needs.
Here you will also find some suggestions for drafting your articles, starting from the most sought-after topics, and which therefore interest users the most.
In addition to this, you will be able to track down your competitors, know the contents with which they are positioned for the key terms and/or topics you are looking for, and consequently produce new useful contents that differ from theirs.
The Ubersuggest category is in turn divided into:
- overview
- keyword ideas
- content ideas.
Overview
The overview section of Ubersuggest is the one that contains the very first results that are returned to you when you enter a keyword.
In detail, what you will see of the entered keyword will be:
- the number of monthly searches (search volume)
- the competitiveness index among the organic results. The higher the value, the more difficult it will be to position in the SERP (SEO difficulty)
- the competitiveness index among paid results – Google Ads (paid difficulty)
- the average cost per click that you will have to pay to Google if you want to sponsor your site through the chosen keyword (CPC).
Keyword Ideas
The keyword ideas that are returned to you in this section are grouped into very specific types:
- suggest
- related
- requests
- prepositions
- comparisons.
Suggested keywords are derived from the one you entered. They coincide with the suggestions provided by Google when you type a word in the search bar. For example, if the keyword is “digital marketing”, the first two suggestions will be “digital marketing Google” and “digital marketing with Google”.
The correlates, on the other hand, are composed of several terms, belonging to the category of “long-tail keywords”. They are returned to you because they contain one or more words of the keyword being analyzed, and are the ones most searched for by users. “Digital marketing courses” is an example of this.
Questions are keywords in the form of a question: “What is digital marketing?” or “How to do digital marketing” These are both examples of questions deriving from the main keyword.
Prepositions, on the other hand, are terms having two related concepts in one, such as “digital marketing courses” or “digital marketing ideas”.
Finally, the item comparisons include all those words compared with the keyword sought, through the help of conjunctions: and, or, or, and the abbreviation vs. For example: “digital marketing or web marketing”; “digital marketing vs traditional marketing”.
Content ideas
Under this heading, you will find a list of web pages that are highly related to the searched keyword, in short, profitable keywords. The URL of each of these pages is clickable and leads back to the page itself. For each of these pages, you will also find explicitly the number and list of keywords contained and backlinks received.
Traffic Analyzer
In the Ubersuggest traffic analyzer, you can analyze the domains, and therefore your main competitors, for which metrics and graphs will be returned to you to examine.
Overview
When you enter a domain in the search box, Ubersuggest returns four key metrics per domain:
- the keywords with which this domain is positioned in organic Google searches (organic keywords);
- the estimated total number of traffic that the domain receives considering the organic keywords (monthly organic traffic);
- the score attributed to the domain, directly proportional to the authority and positioning of the site on Google (domain score);
- incoming links received from other domains (backlinks).
Next, to make the analysis more intuitive and clear, again concerning the same domain being searched for, the tool shows you two graphs:
The first indicates the trend of monthly organic visits over 12 months
The second presents SEO keyword ranking metrics, and then measures rankings on Google for specific keywords, analyzing their changes over time.
Main pages
As can be seen from the name itself, in this section of Ubersuggest, you will find the main pages of the site you are analyzing, also in this case it returns 3 key metrics, namely:
- SEO-URL title: the title (or URL of the web page) displayed in Google search;
- estimated visits, the estimated number of visits that the website receives from Google monthly, for all keywords or terms searched by users;
- Backlinks.

Keywords
This part, which is also quite intuitive, shows the list of keywords with which the web page you are looking for is positioned in Google’s organic searches, the metrics are always the same:
- Search volume;
- Ranking on Google;
- Monthly traffic.
SEO Analyzer
This last category of Ubersuggest offers you the possibility to improve the performance of your site, starting from an analysis of the main reference metrics, the same ones already mentioned above about competitor websites.
In addition to this, Ubersuggest will show you the critical errors that threaten the positioning of your blog/site, then offer you other suggestions aimed at optimizing your resource and ranking in SERPs.

Site audits
In the audit section of the Ubersuggest site, except for the first value, relating to the SEO on page score, i.e. the overall score assigned to your domain for all pages scanned by the site audit. The metrics provided are once again the same:
- monthly organic traffic,
- organic keywords,
- backlinks.
The site audit report provides you with additional and more specific information about your domain, relating to:
- critical errors,
- warnings,
- suggestions,
- site loading speed (desktop and mobile),
- top SEO errors.
Critical errors are those that have the greatest impact on the health of your website, which is why you need to pay more attention to them. Following, in order of criticality, are the warnings and suggestions.
Not to be underestimated is the loading speed, this also has a significant impact on the health of the site, and should never exceed 8 seconds of loading, and ideally stay on 3 seconds.
SEO errors, on the other hand, unlike the critical ones which are more technical, are related to web writing issues such as too little text, meta descriptions, and duplicate meta tags.
Finally, Ubersuggest reports the number of pages scanned by dividing them into pages:
- broken,
- with errors,
- blocked,
- with redirects,
- healthy.
A general and at the same time detailed view of the conditions in which each single page of your site is found, such as the one offered by Ubersuggest, will allow you to intervene to take care of its optimization.
Backlinks
The backlinks section of Ubersuggest gives you an overview of the inbound links to your site, specifically showing you:
- inbound links received,
- domains pointing to your site,
- new and lost backlinks,
- list of titles and URLs of the pages from which the link comes and to which it is directed (of your web pages) divided into follow and unfollow.
Resources
The “resources” item of Ubersuggest provides a section entirely dedicated to support, which is in turn divided into:
- knowledgebase,
- coaching,
- support.
The knowledge base is equivalent to any FAQ Page containing the most frequent questions asked by users and divided by topic. You can type your question in the appropriate bar at the top, and see if it is present in the list of questions.
Through the “coaching” function, you can instead sign up for one of the webinars organized monthly by the Ubersuggest team, and then participate in a Q&A session.
Finally, by clicking on “support” you will be redirected to a form to fill out, through which you can forward your question directly to the support team.
The fields to fill in are the following:
- Subject of Inquiry
- first name
- email address
- message.
How to use Ubersuggest in an SEO project
Choosing a good keyword tool like Ubersuggest is certainly an excellent starting point for defining an SEO project and optimizing your content. However, the choice, the grouping of the right keywords, and the analysis of the competition constitute a very important part of the operation to be implemented.
For this reason, I intend to give you some suggestions in this regard, dividing the procedure to be implemented into 2 distinct phases, relating:
- keyword research,
- competitor analysis.
Would you like to specialize in SEO but still don’t know which path to choose?
Keyword research
In this first phase, you will:
- identify your target audience, the so-called personas. Once in the user’s shoes, try to imagine what kind of queries they would type to find your product or service. In this way you will draw up a list of keywords to search for ;
or
- brainstorm keywords related to your business or industry.
Once you find the words to search for:
- do a search and analysis of the chosen words in a dedicated SEO tool like Ubersuggest
- pay more attention to long tail keywords, as these allow you to intercept user requests, about a specific topic
- export the list of words available to your computer and group them in an Excel file, editable and therefore
- customizable by dividing them by level of competitiveness and search volume.
